My sister, Jacqui, inspired me to take the kids hiking. They did a hike with the kids and friends last weekend in Israel and the girls seemed to do great (in spite of their short legs). So this morning we set off and I was so impressed with my clan, who hiked the 1.3km Tortoise trail at the Tygerberg Nature Reserve.
The trek required a fair amount of perseverance and it was a great feeling when we reached the top of Tygerberg Hill and enjoyed the spectacular view of Cape Town and Table Mountain. This is such an easy outing and only cost R5 per child.

What a beautiful view, well done to all of you for making it up there to enjoy!
Ooh this looks like something right up our street! This is going on our list of hikes to do in the near future! Thanks for sharing this on the Carnival!
It’s actually has really easy options. You don’t even need to do one of the hikes to get to the top, you can just followed the road and you’ll get there in 10min. There are about 5 hike options raging from about 2km to 6km.
oh goodie, now i’m even more encouraged! Enjoy your Greece trip!
Fantastic achievement for such “short legs”. I think children’s energy makes up for lack of length!
